During the 17th century, the archipelago was divided into two territorial units, one English and the other Danish. Sugarcane, produced by slave labor, drove the islands' economy during the 18th and early 19th centuries. In 1917, the US purchased the Danish portion, which had been in economic decline since the abolition of slavery in 1848.

DONNELL REED (VIRGINIA, USA)
22nd July 2008 		I have a virginia CCW firearm permit, I qualified for my permit using my New York State Certificate of relief from Disabilities for a 1991 drug possession felony Conviction which I was sentenced to probation. I also did 6 years in the Military after my conviction. Will I be able to qualify for a USVI firearm permit. I want to move to St. X with my family. I'm now a Virgina State Corrections Officer.
