This is the count of all degrees awarded to American Indians and Alaska natives. A degree is an award conferred by a college, university, or other postsecondary education institution as official recognition for the successful completion of a program of studies. "American Indian / Alaska Native" refers to persons having origins in any of the original peoples of North America and who maintains cultural identification through tribal affiliation or community recognition. Per capita figures expressed per 10,000 population. |
