Definition: Ethanol Consumption (Barrels). These numbers indicate how much ethanol is consumed. Ethanol is used in the transportation sector as an additive to motor gasoline and can be derived from sugar cane, sugar beets, corn, sweet sorghum, wheat and other grains. It is considered a renewable form of energy. Per $ GDP figures expressed per 10 million $ gross domestic product. This term refers to direct charges actually paid or payable for items consumed or put into production during the year, including freight charges and other direct charges incurred by the establishment in acquiring these materials.
