Note: Includes the hours open for public service for centrals, branches, bookmobiles, and books-by-mail only. For each bookmobile, only the hours during which the bookmobile is open to the public are counted. For public library systems (administrative entities) that offer ONLY books-by-mail service, the hours that the outlet is staffed for service are counted. Minor variations in scheduled public service hours are not included; however, extensive hours closed to the public due to natural disasters or other events are excluded even if the staff is scheduled to work.
The count of the audience at all programs for which the primary audience is children. Includes adults who attend programs intended primarily for children.
