The World Professional Billiards and Snooker Association (WPBSA, also known as the World Snooker Association), founded in 1968 as the Professional Billiard Players' Association, is the governing body for the professional game. Its subsidiary, World Snooker is responsible for running and administrating snooker’s main ranking circuit events. The WPSBA is also responsible for organising invatation events such as the Masters. The WPBSA is also responsible for the rules and regulations of snooker including disciplinary matters. The chairman of the WPBSA board is Sir Rodney Walker.
