Wizard is a science fiction novel by John Varley, the second book in his Gaea Trilogy. Set 68 years after the events of the first book, the novel details a journey taken around the inside circumference of the body of Gaea, the living God/World, by Cirocco Jones, former captain of the DSV Ringmaster and now Wizard of Gaea. Among her companions is Gaby Plauget, who fills in for the Wizard on a contract basis when Cirocco is on one of her frequent alcoholic binges. Also tagging along are Robin of the Coven and Chris Major, two newcomers who must prove their mettle as heroes before Gaea will agree to cure their crippling ailments. Their quest takes a dangerous turn when Gaea Herself learns of Gaby's true purpose behind the voyage.
