Well of Souls can mean several things:

  • 1. The Well of Souls (אבן השתייה, Bir el- Arweh) is a subterranean chamber beneath the Dome of the Rock in the Temple Mount in Jerusalem. The chamber located beneath the rock is known to Jews as Eben Shetiyyah and to Muslims as Sakhrah. Members of these faiths believe it to be the place where God commanded Abraham to sacrifice his son: Isaac in the Judeo-Christian tradition, and Ishmael in the Muslim tradition.

A less frequently cited tradition holds that the cave is located atop the Abyss of Chaos and it is the Rivers of Paradise which can be heard below.
