Walter Frederick Brown (born July 28, 1926) was the presidential candidate of the Socialist Party USA in 2004. He was a state Senator in Oregon as a Democrat (1974-1986) and was a Socialist Party candidate for U.S. Congress in 1998, 2000, 2002, and 2004.

Brown was born in Illinois December 1, 1860.
Brown then went to Lamar, Missouri, worked in that vicinity a year, and farmed two years at Meade, Nebraska, and for four years was employed by the firm of Condit & Austinberg, grain and lumber men.
