WABM, channel 68, called locally "UPN68", is the UPN affiliate of the Birmingham/Anniston/Tuscaloosa television market. WABM is owned by Sinclair Broadcasting Group, which also owns WTTO-TV. It started in 1986 as an independent telvision station known as WCAJ, first carrying infomericals and then ventured over into movies, sitcoms, and dramas. In early 1995, WABM picked up the affiliation of UPN. They remained an UPN affiliate even through the Big Switch of '96. WABM is licensed to Birmingham.
