Vlasenica (Serbian Cyrillic: Власеница) is a municipality and town in the northeastern part of Republika Srpska, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
According to the 1910 census, the absolute majority in the Vlasenica municipality were Orthodox Christians (64.34%).
For the duration of the war the city served as a headqueorters for the VRS Army of Republika Srpska for operations against Kladanj, Srebrenica and Žepa as well as a major transit point for supplies coming from Serbia.
