Early life

At the age of 11, Irizarry began to study piano, becoming classically trained, then continued his studies at Berklee College of Music in Boston. It was there that he fell in love with acting while performing in numerous productions with a regional theater company. He decided to move back to New York to sow the seeds for a career as a professional actor, soon winning a full-time scholarship with the late Lee Strasberg at his Theater Institute. Career

Vincent Irizarry got his start in daytime television in 1983 as Brandon/Lujack Luvonaczek on Guiding Light. He was paired up with Judi Evans Luciano and they were considered a "supercouple." He was nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award in 1985, but lost to future All My Children co-star Michael E. Knight. He also portrayed the role of Nick McHenry Spaulding on the show from 1991 to 1996. Irizarry was married for three years to actress Signy Coleman (married from 1989-1992), with whom he has a daughter, Siena Sophia, "a teenage activist in the yippie revival party, animal rights, legalization and a psychedelic artist/free verse poet chategorized as a new-age beatnik in her style of writing". He has two children with his current wife, Avalon House. Daughter Aria was born in August 1997 and son Elias Christopher was welcomed into the world in December of 2001. Vincent's first professional job came on the off-Broadway stage at the New York Shakespeare Festival, where he was directed by the Tony Award-winning director, Des McAnuff, in The Death of Von Richthoven.
Soon after, Vincent moved to Los Angeles, where he worked opposite Nancy McKeon in the CBS television movie, Firefighter; with Treat Williams and Peter Coyote in Joseph Wambaugh's Echoes in the Darkness, as well as many guest-starring roles on series such as L.A. Law.
Vincent also won critical acclaim when he was offered the lead role of Gino Santangelo in Jackie Collins' NBC miniseries, Lucky Chances, where he portrayed 40 years in a man's life.
