The Sahlgrenska University Hospital or Sahlgrenska Universitetssjukhuset is a university hospital system in Gothenburg, Sweden with a staff of 17 000 people.
It is also a teaching hospital in medicine for the Gothenburg University, with the Sahlgrenska Academy as the responsible authority; there are about 1 500 researchers and teachers and 4 000 students.
The current hospital was formed in 1997 by integrating the three hospitals Sahlgrenska Sjukhuset, Östra Sjukhuset and Mölndals Sjukhus.
