Upon leaving the Boltax laboratory, the Underbase took the form of a giant cube of light, with its data encoded directly into the movement patterns of the photons. The Underbase did not have any preset course, instead it simply flew aimlessly in one direction. The awesome energy contained in the Underbase caused deadly heat waves in the atmosphere of any planet it encountered, killing off all life on the planet. The Autobots, led by Optimus Prime and the Decepticons, led by Scorponok and Ratbat, teamed up with each other in an attempt to stop Starscream. When Scorponok and Ratbat became aware of this, they followed him, also intent on stealing the Underbase. In a struggle for power, Scorponok killed Ratbat, and followed Starscream to intercept the Underbase.

At the last minute, Optimus Prime shoved himself and Scorponok out of the Underbase's path, causing it to collide head-on with Starscream, who absorbed its entire power. For a few seconds, Starscream became the most powerful being in the entire universe, but the power of the Underbase was too much for one being to contain, and Starscream died in a vast explosion.

U.S. Screenprinting Institute - Underbases - Why, When & How (2232 words)
An underbase or underlay is simply a layer of ink that is printed directly onto the garment to provide a base for the colors that are printed after it to create the design.
The underbase seals off the fabric and prevents it from showing through the print, at the same time keeping the inks that are printed on top of it from soaking into the garment.
A solid underbase, which is a solid, flat sheet of ink that underlies the entire design, is easier to create, but also results in a thicker, heavier finished print.
Choosing the Correct Union White Plastisol (1693 words)
Underbasing is a process where a white ink is printed on a dark colored shirt, placed underneath a drying unit called a flash cure dryer which brings the ink film to a minimum gel temperature and allows colors to be printed on top of the white under base ink.
Underbase screens on your automatic or manual press should be set off-contact in order for the ink to clear the screen cleanly.
For example, on a six color press the underbase would be printed on head #1, flash cured on head #2, head #3 would be empty and used as the cool down station.
