Encyclopedia > Transmediale

Transmediale is a yearly art festival, held in Berlin, Germany. Originating as a video and film festival for contemporary art, in 2001 control was taken over by Andreas Broeckmann who introduced an interest in software art and re-established the festival as an important contributor to the European art scene.


The festival incorporates an award ceremony in three categories: software art, video art and interactive art.
