Tom Niedenfuer is, unfortunately, best remembered for his disastrous performance during the 1985 National League Championship Series between his Los Angeles Dodgers and the St. Louis Cardinals. In Game 5, Niedenfuer gave up a walk-off home run to Ozzie Smith. The home run was notable because Ozzie Smith was a light-hitter who up until that particular point, had never hit a home run left-handed.
