Thomas R. Mason was a chiropractor who lived in Los Angeles in the 1950s. However, he is best known as the stand-in for the then recently deceased Bela Lugosi in Ed Wood, Jr.'s infamous movie Plan 9 From Outer Space. Mason, who looked nothing like Lugosi, wore a cape over his face in all of his scenes. Chiropractic treatment uses manipulative therapy to correct subluxation, which has been shown to have some efficacy in treating back and neck pain, headache, and other symptoms of spinal-related conditions. ...
