Tiamat - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (589 words)
Lahmu and Lahamu, in turn, were the parents of the axis or pivot of the heavens (Anshar, from An = heaven, Shar = axle or pivot) and the earth (Kishar), and Anshar and Kishar were considered to meet on the horizon, becoming thereby the parents of Anu and Ki.
Tiamat possessed the Tablets of Destiny, and in the primordial battle she gave them to Kingu, the god she had chosen as her lover and the leader of her host.
Some feminist theorists interpret the slaying of Tiamat as the installation of male patriarchy and the supression of a theorized earlier matrifocal partnership culture characterised by a degree of gender equality.
Tiamat (Dungeons & Dragons) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (924 words)
Tiamat is a queen of evil dragons and a member of the default pantheon of DandD gods.
Tiamat is one of the few surviving gods of the Untheric pantheon (based on the Sumerian mythology), having battled Marduk in ages past, and also a member of the draconic pantheon, daughter of Io, the slayer of Gilgeam the God-king of Unther, Nemesis of the Gods.
Tiamat is also the name of a boss in the first Xenosaga game, but the only thing it has in common with the Dungeons and Dragons version is a multicoloured (primarily red) colour scheme.
