The Art Institute of Pittsburgh was founded in 1921 and is the oldest and most storied of the "Art Institutes" throughout North America, serving as the headquarters for the others. It has had a history of excellence producing all types of artists but specializing in industrial/advertising art. The school has a large investment in technology with 17 computer labs, it also "graduated" to granting bachelor degrees in January of 2000.
