Sunshine Recorders are used to indicate the amount of sunshine at a given location. The results are used to help provide information on the climate of an area and some of the fields it is of importance to are science, agriculture and tourism. The scope of this article is limited to the empirical sciences. ... Tourist redirects here; for the album by Athlete, see Tourist (album) For the Roxette album, see Tourism (album) Tourism is the act of travel for the purpose of recreation and business, and the provision of services for this act. ...
Traditionally, sunshine recorders are divided into two groups. In the first group the time of the occurrence of the event is provided by the sun itself and in the second a clock type device is used to provide the time scale. The Sun is the spectral type G2V yellow star at the center of Earths solar system. ... A wall clock A clock (from the Latin cloca, bell) is an instrument for measuring time. ...
The older type of recorders required the interpretation of the results by an observer and these may have differed from one person to another. Today, with the use of electronics and computers it is possible to record the sunshine duration that does not rely on an observers interpretation. At the same time the newer recorders can also measure the global and diffuse radiation.

Other recorders use the thermal or photographic effect Other Types of Sunshine Recorder.—There are, however, various other conventions as to sunshine which are used as the basis of recorders of quite different types.
The Callendar sunshinerecorder' gives a record of the difference of temperature of two wires, one solarized and the other not, and it is therefore a continuous record of the thermal effect of solar and terrestrial radiation.
In these circumstances it becomes a question whether the amount of sunshinerecorded should be referred to the maximum possible for an uninterrupted horizon or the maximum possible for the particular exposure.
