About The Southern Football League - Tasmania (476 words)
The S.F.L (Southern Football League trading as AFL Southern Tasmania) is the largest football competition in Tasmania with 18 clubs affiliated.
The League was formed in 1996 with the merging of the Southern Amateurs and 2 teams from the Huon Football Association.
Following the demise of the Statewide League (the former TFL) in late 2000, the league increased in size with the addition of another three former SWL clubs - Clarence, Glenorchy and North Hobart.
