Hip-Hop Review | Slug: A Rapper Whose Targets Include Himself, Shooting From the Hip (404 words)
Slug is one-half of the hip-hop duo Atmosphere — his producer, Ant, doesn't tour — which has pioneered a witty, bitter form of hip-hop.
(Slug is often praised or derided as a white rapper, but his father is fl.) The fourth Atmosphere album, "Seven's Travels," was released in September by the punk-rock label Epitaph, and on Tuesday Slug paid brief tribute to two punk-inspired musical ancestors: Husker Du and Elliott Smith.
Slug was at his best when he digressed.
