Schruns is the main village of the Montafon valley in Austria. In the west one can see one of the most popular hiking and climbing mountains in Vorarlberg, the Zimba, which is called the "Vorarlberger Matterhorn".

A cableway from Schruns serves the Kapellalpe (1,855m/6,086ft; restaurant; magnificent views), east of the town, continuing up to the Sennigrat (2,300m/7,550ft).
