Melissa Joan Hart as Sabrina
Sabrina the Teenage Witch was a Showtime TV movie about a teenage girl Sabrina Sawyer who was sent to live with her two aunts only to find out that she was a witch. Melissa Joan Hart was cast for the main role in 1994, and the movie was released in 1996. The two aunts were played by Sherry Miller (Hilda) and Charlene Fernetz (Zelda).
Sabrina, the Teenage Witch subsequently became a television series which lasted for seven seasons (until 2003). Melissa Joan Hart continued playing Sabrina (with her surname changed to Spellman) in the sitcom; the aunts were Caroline Rhea (Hilda) and Beth Broderick (Zelda). Among the regulars were the cat Salem, voiced by Nick Bakay, and Sabrina's boyfriend Harvey, played by Nate Richert. Hart's real-life sister Emily played Amanda.
Sabrina, the Teenage Witch is also a feature film in production for 2005/2006 and the producers opted to cast Sarah Michelle Gellar in the part, passing over Hart. Hart will have a smaller role in the film as the mother.
