He is described as being one of the most cheerful members of the team, but has a tendency of getting carried away during dangerous situations. In the GameCube remake, his life can be prolonged if the serum is delivered on time. He is killed off at a later point of the game: in Jill's scenario, Richard helps her during the initial encounter with Yawn, only to be swallowed by the creature in her place; as Chris, the player encounters Richard again in a flooded Aqua Ring, where he saves Chris when Neptune, a mutated shark, surfaces to attack. At both points, the player can retrieve Richard's customized assault shotgun, which has a higher ammo capacity and more firepower than the standard shotgun.


Richard makes an appearance in Resident Evil Zero along with the other members of Bravo Team. He also appears in the "Nightmare" chapter of Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles as a non-player character.[1][2] In "Nightmare" he starred alongside Rebecca as her support as the pair investigated the Spencer Mansion. Though he was not playable, Richard proved to be an invaluable comfort to the exhausted Rebecca. The two of them became the only ones to witness Sergei Vladimir exiting the mansion with the Talos prototype. Ultimately the two Bravo Team Members were attacked by Yawn, and chased through the mansion until they were forced to make a last stand in the library. There Richard saved Rebecca's life, but was fatally wounded in the process and did not escape the mansion alive. Files in The Umbrella Chronicles flesh out Richard's character further, and it is revealed that he has a sweetheart named Bridgette, and that he joined S.T.A.R.S. in the first place in order to come to terms with a traumatic childhood experience when his baby sister was murdered right in front of him[3]. In Resident Evil, the player will find a wounded Enrico in the underground tunnels. Enrico reveals the existence of a traitor within the S.T.A.R.S. unit, but before he can share his knowledge with the player, he is shot and killed by an unseen assailant which is later revealed to be either Albert Wesker or Barry Burton depending on which characters misson is being played and decisions taken by the player. Enrico discovers that a member of the S.T.A.R.S. unit is a traitor, but is only able to ascertain that the member responsible is either Albert Wesker, Chris Redfield or Barry Burton. In the novelization Resident Evil: The Umbrella Conspiracy by S.D.Perry, the severed hand found by Alpha Team is revealed to be that of Kenneth, who lost his hand on his way to the mansion before being killed by a zombie. The novelization was published before the release of the GameCube version of Resident Evil and Zero.

Kevin Dooley is an R.P.D. officer who serves as Bravo Team's helicopter pilot. He is not an actual member of S.T.A.R.S., but takes the place of the established pilot, Edward Dewey, during the events of the games. He is only identified by name in the Nintendo GameCube remake of the original Resident Evil, due to a retcon by the developers in order to explain the presence of an additional member in the S.T.A.R.S. group photograph located in the team's office in Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3: Nemesis. In the events that transpired during Resident Evil Zero he is forced to land in Raccoon Forest after the team's helicopter suffers an engine failure. He remains with the helicopter for reasons unexplained (probably due to his lack of combat experience) while Bravo Team investigates the area. His mutilated remains are later found by Joseph Frost of Alpha Team during the opening sequence of Resident Evil.
