Francis Cardinal George is the current Archbishop of Chicago.

As of 2003, the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Chicago covers the City of Chicago as well as Cook and Lake counties, Illinois.


The Diocese of Chicago, erected on November 28, 1843, was elevated to Archdiocese on September 10, 1880.
