While it seems that Rob Cohen appeared out of nowhere when he arrived on the Hollywood scene to direct last year's action blockbuster The Fast and the Furious, in reality he's an industry veteran who has worked as a producer for nearly 30 years.
After college, Cohen headed west to a job as a script reader for producer Mike Medavoy, where he quickly distinguished himself by recommending the screenplay for The Sting.
