The renal clearance ratio is found with the following equation:

  Results from FactBites:

Kidney - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (1969 words)
The outer portion of the kidney is called the renal cortex, which sits directly beneath the kidney's loose connective tissue/fibrous capsule.
Deep to the cortex lies the renal medulla, which is divided into 10-20 renal pyramids in humans.
Due to the polar alignment of cells in the renal epithelia NHE3 and the H-ATPase are exposed to the lumen (which is essentially outside the body), on the apical side of the cells, and are responsible for excreting hydrogen ions (or protons).
Renal artery - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (395 words)
Due to the position of the aorta, the inferior vena cava and the kidneys in the body, the right renal artery is normally longer than the left renal artery.
The renal arteries carry a large portion of total blood flow to the kidneys.
Renal artery stenosis, or narrowing of one or both renal arteries will lead to hypertension as the affected kidneys release renin to increase blood pressure to preserve perfusion to the kidneys.
