Academics

Each student at R.J. Grey is assigned to one of eight "teams", with four teams per grade level. These teams help divide the school into manageable parts. The teams are: 7 Green, 7 Red, 7 Orange, 7 Gold, 8 Green, 8 Red, 8 Orange, and 8 Gold. It is said that 7 Red is the smartest and coolest wing. The number refers to the grade. Each team has about 120 students; 7th grade teams have five teachers, while 8th grade teams have four teachers. Each team's classrooms are located in a specific part of the school, so students do not have to walk far to reach their classes. Each team also has its own class schedule and special activities such as field trips. The teachers on a team interact closely with one another to coordinate these activities. The subjects taught are Math, Science, English, Social Studies, and World Language (French or Spanish).
