Pymatuning Township is a township located in Mercer County, Pennsylvania. As of the 2000 census, the township had a total population of 3,782.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 46.8 km˛ (18.1 mi˛). 42.7 km˛ (16.5 mi˛) of it is land and 4.1 km˛ (1.6 mi˛) of it is water. The total area is 8.69% water.
As of the census2 of 2000, there are 3,782 people, 1,519 households, and 1,093 families residing in the township. The population density is 88.5/km˛ (229.3/mi˛). There are 1,632 housing units at an average density of 38.2/km˛ (98.9/mi˛). The racial makeup of the township is 98.31% White, 0.63% African American, 0.11% Native American, 0.16% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.24% from other races, and 0.56% from two or more races. 0.66% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 1,519 households out of which 35.7% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 51.8% are married couples living together, 15.2% have a female householder with no husband present, and 28.0% are non-families. 23.6% of all households are made up of individuals and 9.9% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older.
