Ptolemy III Euergetes I, (Ptolemaeus III) (Evergetes, Euergetes) (reigned 246 BC-222 BC). The third ruler of the Ptolemaic dynasty of Egypt, he was the eldest son of Ptolemy II of Egypt Philadelphus and Arsinoe II of Egypt. He came to power in 246 BC upon the death of his father. He is most noted for his invasions of the northern kingdom of Syria which he commenced upon the murder of his eldest sister Berenice Phernophorus. Ptolemy III Euergetes is responsible for the start of the "Rosetta Stone Series", the Bilinguals inscribed upon massive, stone block, in ( 3 )three Scripts. Ptolemy III's stone (stele) is the "Canopus Stone", namely the Decree of Canopus, of 238 B.C.E. His son, Ptolemy IV, is responsible for the Memphis Stele, or Memphis Stone, the 2nd in the series, namely called the Decree of Memphis, approximately of 218 B.C.E. It is of Note, that Leap Year is implemented by Ptolemy III, in his Decree of Canopus. His decree discusses, priestly "groups", and His daughter's death, Berenice. But 2 of 26 lines of Hieroglyphs, implement Leap Year, and the associated Festivals, .. almost 10 percent of the Decree of Canopus.
