When people stop purchasing his toys, the kind toymaker Gepetto creates a toy for his own, a puppet made out of a piece of wood, on which a spark of magic had just fallen. The puppet is given the name of Pinocchio and immediately comes alive. However, Pinocchio isn't happy being a puppet and longs to be a real boy, for this, a kind and wise cricket comes along who will teach the innocent little puppet what it takes to earn his heart's desire. When Gepetto is swallowed by a gigantic whale, Pinocchio runs to the aid of the Blue Fairy who offers him the needed help and rewards him grandly.

Pinocchio was produced by Golden Films and the American Film Investment Corporation, it was distributed to DVD in 2002 by GoodTimes Entertainment.

Trivia

  • The film was part of the original wave of Golden Films animated releases.
  • In the original Carlo Collodi story, Gepetto was swallowed by an oversized shark rather than a whale. A whale's throat would be too small to swallow an entire human being, especially along with a boat.
  • Pinocchio made its debut onto DVD under the Collectible Classics line.

Songs

Song title: All for Me and All for Free

I'll have a field of wishes
And whatever I wish I may
I will live like a king
I'll do everything
And never work a day

I hope you wish for sharing
And to love with an open heart
For the good that you do will come back to you
And then your life can start

Now the world is waiting
Just for me to try

Make me proud, Pinocchio
And never tell a lie

All for me and all for free
They never live in harmony
In sisterhood and brotherhood
The way that real children should

The boy Gepetto made out of wood

All for me and all for free
They never live in harmony
In sisterhood and brotherhood
The way that real children should

Like me, the boy that's made out of wood
