Pine Creek's source is in Potter County, 8 km (5 mi) southeast of Ulysses. It flows south to Galeton, where it receives its first major tributary, the West Branch Pine Creek. It then flows east to Tioga County and at the village of Ansonia it turns south again and receives its second major tributary, Marsh Creek.
