He married Christina Hamilton after working at the RNC for a few years and graduating from Gettysburg College. He then went to graduate school at Washington University and obtained a PhD in History. He then moved to Missouri with his wife, Chris. He got a job there at Lindenwood University They lived in St. Peters, Missouri and had two children, Thomas, born in 1993 and Jacob, born in 1997. They moved once in Missouri. They then moved to Newport News, Virginia and getting a job at Christopher Newport University. After seven years of writing, editing, and submitting, his book was finally published, The Making and unmaking of a Revolutionary Family. He was born in 1961 at Toronto, Canada. His mothers name was Catherine Hamilton and his father, Jacob Hamilton. He went through a normal childhood. In elementary school he got Cs and Ds but in highschool his grades improved to As and Bs and he realized his love for history. When in college he met the roomate of his girlfriend, Chris Samuelson, soon to be his wife. Eventually he asked her to marry him and she accepted.

He is not all serious though. He has gone through some humorous moments such as at his wedding ball his brother turned the video camera away from him when he did the dip. Him and his wife Chris now live together with two children in Newport News, Virginia.
