Peter Boulware (born December 18, 1974 in Columbia, South Carolina) is a former American football linebacker who played for the Baltimore Ravens. He graduated first from Spring Valley High School, and went on to play for Florida State University. He was drafted by the Baltimore Ravens with the 4th overall pick in the 1997 draft. In 1997 Boulware recorded 58 total tackles, 12 sacks, and one forced fumble to receive The NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year by the Associated Press. He would play for the Ravens for 8 years, going to four Pro Bowls and becoming the Ravens all-time leading sacker. The Ravens released Peter Boulware prior to the 2005 season, but re-signed him to a lower salary. Before the 2006 season, the Ravens released him again due to injuries, he currently plays for no NFL team. Boulware was officially inducted into the Baltimore Ravens' Ring of Honor in a ceremony that occurred during halftime of the game between the Ravens and the Bengals on November 5, 2006. The Ravens were unable to agree on restructuring Boulware's contract in negotiations with his agent, Roosevelt Barnes, ending Boulware's tenure with Baltimore after nine seasons.
Boulware's contract carried a $6 million base salary, the highest on the team, for the next four seasons.
