History

Peep shows, also known as peep box or raree show ("rarity show") trace back to ancient times (15th century in Europe, by Leon Battista Alberti) and are known in various cultures. It could be a wooden box with a hole or several holes. It contained a set of pictures which the show-man can set into a viewing position by pulling the corresponding string. The boxes could be decorated inside to resemble a theatrical scene. The show was accompanied by "talk show" that explained what is seen or what expected to be seen. Possible shows were exotic views and animals, scenes of classical drama or masques, court ceremonies, surprise transformations, e.g., of an angel into a devil, and of course, lewd pictures. Peep show follows the lives of two men who just happen to be compleate opposites, Mark (David Mitchell)is a sensible, buisness man who has built up a small obsession with his office mate named Sophie Chapman (Olivia Colman). It also follows the story of Jeremy (Robert Webb), who is totally the oppisite to Mark, he is a young, viberant go getter, who never seems to get much of a break

Peep Show is a British sitcom starring David Mitchell and Robert Webb.
The show is unusual in that the events of the characters' lives are seen literally from their own points of view (in fact, a working title for the programme was "POV").
Peep Show features the often sexually frustrated lives of two twenty-somethings, Mark Corrigan (Mitchell) and Jeremy Osborne (Webb), former university companions (they sometimes refer to themselves as 'The El Dude Brothers') who now share a flat.
