"Partyman" is Prince's 1989 followup to the No. 1 hit "Batdance". The accompanying music video is often regarded by fans as his finest, again presenting Prince's "Gemini" persona (half-Joker, half-Batman). The song is one of the few on the album that is actually present in the movie, accompanying the scene where the Joker and his minions desecrate the Gotham City Art Museum before meeting Vicki Vale. The song became the only Batman single to perform better in the UK charts, where it just peaked inside the top 15, as opposed to the US (where it peaked at 18). The 12-inch single extends the song to about 6 minutes in length (labelled as the 'video mix') and features the B-Side "Feel U Up", which would later be available on the Hits/B-Sides compilation. Owing to licensing problems the song, like all of the Batman-era hits, has failed to appear on any Prince compilation. Image File history File links Prince_Partyman. ...
