Paolo Troubetzkoy (Intra, 15 February 1866 - Pallanza, 12 February 1938), also known as Paul, was an artist. He was born in Italy in 1866 and died in the same country in 1937. During his life he travelled and worked in Russia, America, England and Italy of course. He was a self tought artist although he did learn scupturing from an Italian sculptor (Giuseppe Grandi). He is very often associated with impressionism, due to his way of creating sketchy movements in his bronze works. He does portrait the society of the belle epoque. Some of his bronzes, although not very many, are still available on the market. Quite famous is the 35cm high portrait of Costance Stewart Richardson called The Dancer.
