Bruce Eisenbeil: Jazz Guitarist (540 words)
Opium, the latest CIMP (Creative Improvisational Music Project) release to be led by the New York-based guitarist, Bruce Eisenbeil, is a mesmerizing album.
The Opium quartet is anchored by an unusually dark-timbred horn combination consisting of David Taylor on bass trombone and Michael Attias on bass saxophone.
Opium is an album of contrasts, the most significant of which is that of the thin, needle-like sound of Eisenbeil's guitar and hearty roars of the Attias and Taylor horns.
PIG - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (666 words)
Several of his albums were originally released in Japan, where he enjoyed considerably more success than in the United States, but those albums were eventually released in the US.
His album and song titles tend to be witty, rife with alliteration ("Prayer Praise and Profit") or plays on the titles of popular works or phrases (The Swining / "Symphony for the Devil").
Watts has contributed his skills as a songwriter and vocalist to several KMFDM albums, including their first album Opium in 1984, and has a heavy presence on their 1995 album Nihil, which spawned their hit "Juke Joint Jezebel", a song that exemplifies Watts' musical style.
