Northwest Louisiana is a region in the U.S. state of Louisiana. The region is centered on the Shreveport/Bossier metropolitan area and extends as far south as Natchitoches and as far west as Ruston. It is culturally and economically attached to Northeast Texas and Southwest Arkansas and along with portions of those regions constitutes the Ark-La-Tex.

The Ark-La-Tex, Arklatex, or ArkLaTex is a U.S. socio-economic region where Arkansas, Louisiana, Texas and Oklahoma intersect.
The region is centered on the Shreveport/Bossier metropolitan area in Northwest Louisiana, although Marshall in Northeast Texas, Natchitoches, Louisiana, and both Texarkana, Texas and Texarkana, Arkansas retain a large degree of autonomy.
Most of the region is located in the Piney Woods, an ecoregion of dense forest of mixed deciduous and conifer flora.
Lake Claiborne State Park, a Louisiana State Park near Ruston (1093 words)
Homer and Lisbon - Northwest Louisiana Scenic Byway - One of the oldest public buildings in continuous use in the state, the Claiborne Parish Courthouse is a central stopping point for the Claiborne Parish portion of the Byway.
Georgia Pacific Wildlife Management Area--(5 miles northwest of Bastrop on Parish Road 592)--Visitors and hunters may use this 28,000-acre area, managed primarily for timber.
Lake Claiborne State Park--(225 State Park Road, Homer, LA 71040; 318-927-2976 or 1-888-677-2524) is located in North Louisiana, seven miles southeast of Homer on LA 146.
