In the ensuing conflict, the pursuit of democracy and social equality was characteristically left to the second, socialist left.
In this battle, the new, Third Left - of which the Left Alliance is a genuine part - stands firmly on the side of democracy, equality and social security, against the complete freedom of the market, the right of the strongest and the permanent exclusion of people pursued by neo-liberalism.
