The racial makeup of the county is 64.02% White, 33.12% Black or African American, 0.28% Native American, 0.29% Asian, 0.09% Pacific Islander, 1.30% from other races, and 0.90% from two or more races. 4.25% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
