This problem is exacerbated by the fact that no maps are allowed on Tatooine, therefore making respecting the territories of Sand People and Jawas extremely difficult. This inevitably leads to conflict. Some people believe the prohibition of maps is a deliberate action of the Empire as the conflict it causes necessitates the presence of stormtroopers under the guise of 'peacekeepers'.
