Missaukee County is a county located in the state of Michigan. As of 2000, the population is 14,478. Its county seat is Lake City6.
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 1,486 km˛ (574 mi˛). 1,468 km˛ (567 mi˛) of it is land and 18 km˛ (7 mi˛) of it is water. The total area is 1.23% water.
As of the census2 of 2000, there are 14,478 people, 5,450 households, and 4,043 families residing in the county. The population density is 10/km˛ (26/mi˛). There are 8,621 housing units at an average density of 6/km˛ (15/mi˛). The racial makeup of the county is 97.50% White, 0.20% Black or African American, 0.50% Native American, 0.24% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.37% from other races, and 1.19% from two or more races. 1.17% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 5,450 households out of which 34.00% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 62.80% are married couples living together, 7.40% have a female householder with no husband present, and 25.80% are non-families. 21.50% of all households are made up of individuals and 9.50% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.62 and the average family size is 3.03.

In 2000, Missaukee County voted for George W. Bush as the U.S. president, with 4,274 votes over Al Gore's 2,062 votes.
