Miramar is a city in Broward County, Florida, United States. The city was named after a town in Cuba. As of 2006, the population estimated by the U.S. Census Bureau is 106,590.[2] It is part of the South Florida metropolitan area, which is home to 5,463,857 people.[4] Miramar, loosely translated from Spanish, means sea-view. The racial makeup of the city was 43.59% White, 43.30% African American, 0.16% Native American, 3.03% Asian, 0.10% Pacific Islander, 4.72% from other races, and 5.11% from two or more races.
