Mike Hankwitz was born in 1948 in Ludington, Michigan. He played his college football for The Michigan Wolverines. He has a career record of 1-7. His head coaching stints include a 7 game interim stretch at Arizona after John Mackovic was fired, as well as a 1 game stint with the University of Colorado in the Champs Sports Bowl. His only win came against the University of Washington on November 8, 2003 at Arizona Stadium. Mike Stoops and Dan Hawkins eventually took over for him at Arizona and Colorado respectively.
