Mid Suffolk is a local government district in Suffolk, England. Its council is based in Needham Market.


The district was formed on April 1, 1974 by the merger of the Borough of Eye, Stowmarket urban district, Gipping Rural District, Hartismere Rural District and Thedwastre Rural District.

Suffolk (pronounced 'suffuk') is a large traditional and administrative county in the East Anglia region of eastern England.
Between 1981 and 2001 the population of the county grew by 13%, with the district of Mid Suffolk growing fastest at 25%.
