Michael Monaghan graduated from Archbishop Wood High School in 1995, joined the U.S. Navy, and eventually became crew chief on a search and rescue helicopter, a rescue swimmer and airframe maintenance specialist.
Monaghan enjoys telling is about 2-year-old Michael taking a nice, quiet nap when suddenly she heard "pigeons" on the housetop and discovered Michael and his twin Kevin had climbed out their window and were running on the roof - playing football.
The Monaghan Concert is the primary fund raiser for Michael's Scholarship Fund with the family also hoping for a good turnout so that the amount of the scholarship may be increased to reflect tuition increases.
