Michael Kinane (born June 22, 1959 at Killenaule in County Tipperary, Ireland) is a flat racing jockey. His father, Tommy Kinane was a leading National Hunt jockey who won the Champion Hurdle on Monksfield. He has ridden winners in the Two Thousand Guineas Stakes three times, the Epsom Derby twice, and, in the United States, the Belmont Stakes once. He has been champion jockey of Ireland on numerous occasions. Kinane's father Tommy was a jockey and rode Monksfield to win the 1978 Champion Hurdle at Cheltenham.
In 2003 Kinane rode the winners of six of the 10 Irish group 1 contests, taking the 1,000 Guineas on Yesterday and the Irish Champion stakes on High Chaparral who he then rode to a dead-heat victory in the Breeders' Cup Turf at Santa Anita.
Kinane finished the year as champion jockey in Ireland, his 13th title.

Michael Kinane has, as expected, launched an appeal against a suspension that threatens to rule him out of the ride on Galileo in the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Diamond Stakes at Ascot on Saturday week.
The ban, which rules him out of action next Friday and Saturday, was handed down when he was found guilty of careless riding on the Aidan O'Brien-trained Sophisticat at Leopardstown on Wednesday.
However, Kinane may not have his hearing until less than 24 hours before the suspension is due to start.
