Metal Blade Records is an independent record label which was founded in 1981 by Brian Slagel. It has offices in the USA, Germany, and Japan. INFO: Metal Blade Records is a heavy metal record label that has been home to such bands such as Black Dahlia Murder, As I Lay Dying, Six Feet Under.
The company was founded in 1982 by Brian Slagel, who then worked days at the Los Angeles metal emporium Oz Records and spent nights putting together one of the first metal fanzines, The New Heavy Metal Revue.
He formed Metal Blade Records to focus on the LA metal scene that was being ignored by major labels.
