Married to the Kellys is basically about a loner who grew up without enjoying the camaraderie and warmth of a big family and is in fact based loosely on the life the comedy’s creator and executive producer Tom Hertz.
While Married to the Kellys is a straightforward case of art imitating life, kudos must go to Hertz and his writers for creating some excellent comedic characters.
The fact that the characters are actually reproduced from real people works a treat in lending Married to the Kellys the kind of authenticity that will have a lot of married couples enjoying it and relating to a lot of what goes on in the Kelly household.
